COLUMBUS - A Columbus man is pleading guilty to multiple Felony and misdemeanor charges in Platte County Court Monday morning.
23-year-old Stephen Knott appeared in Platte County District and County Court Monday morning, where he pleaded guilty to ten separate charges, including six Felonies.
The Felony charges Knott pleaded guilty to include Use of a firearm to commit a Felony (class 1C), False Imprisonment (class 3A), Strangulation (class 4), along with three counts of terroristic threats (class 4).
Class 1C Felonies can carry a maximum sentence of 50 years in prison with a mandatory minimum of five years. Class 3A and Class 4 Felonies can carry up to a five year sentence for each charge, along with an optional fine of $10,000.
In Platte County District Court, Knott also pled guilty to multiple class 1 misdemeanors, including stalking and violation of a protection order. After being dismissed from district court, Knott was taken to county court where he pled guilty to 3rd Degree Domestic Assault and child abuse, both class 1 misdemeanors that carry a maximum sentence of one year in prison.
Following a pre-sentencing investigation, Knott will appear for sentencing in Platte County District Court on August 21st at 10:00 a.m., followed directly after by sentencing in county court.
