COLUMBUS - A Columbus woman has been given probation and time behind bars for helping her boyfriend with a counterfeiting scheme.
Stacy Ballou, 37, was given two years probation in Platte County District Court Friday after pleading no contest to two counts of aiding and abetting a class 3 felony in June. Ballou was also given 120 days in jail, to be served in 30 day increments, unless waived by the court.
Thirteen additional aiding and abetting a felony counts were dropped as a part of Ballou's plea deal.
Court documents say Ballou was alongside boyfriend, Brian J. Dieter, 36, on February 8th when the duo exchanged $300 worth of counterfeit $20 bills at a Columbus convenience store on the 3800 block of Howard Boulevard while Ballou worked the cash register.
