According to information gathered by Health Indicators Warehouse, Platte County is ranked top in counties lowering teen pregnancies.
Motivated by this statistic and apart of the Teen Parent Program at Youth for Christ, Lyne' Rerucha, is apart of the current Youth for Christ curriculum, W.A.I.T, which stands for, Why Am I Tempted? This program started 12 years in attempts to promote the message of abstinence.

“Intimacy is about physical, intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual, and so we just felt like because the teen pregnancy rate was high, and we knew there was an issue in our community,” Rerucha says. “Youth of Christ took that on and said 'We're going to do what we can, we are going to do our part, to change that statistic in our community for the youth'.”
Rerucha says they are grateful for United Way and Comprehensive Juvenile Service of Platte County, two big supporters in the church's process of teaching teen abstinence.
