JOHNSON - A two vehicle accident, just west of Johnson, has taken the lives of two and injured one.
At approximately 8:25 p.m., Nemaha County Sheriff's Office received a call for a two vehicle accident by Highway 105 and 64B Spur Road. Law enforcement found two sport utility vehicles in the southwest ditch of that intersection.
According to the Sheriff's Office report, a 2015 Kia Sorento driven by Deborah Wilson of rural Johnson was headed southbound on Highway 105. Wilson then collided with an SUV that was driven by Cheri Wadkins, 48, of Dunbar that was westbound on Spur 64B. Wadkins failed to yield the right of way to Wilson. Both Wadkins and her passenger, Brian Evans, 55, of Dunbar were pronounced dead at the scene. Wadkins was not wearing a seat belt.
Johnson Fire and Rescue, Auburn Fire and Rescue and Midwest Medical Transport were also on scene. The investigation was assisted by the Nebraska State Patrol.
