COLUMBUS - If you drive by Lake North Friday morning you may be thinking Halloween came early. Runners and walkers dressed up in there finest costumes before making the journey around Lake North for the 2nd Annual District 5 Fun Walk/Run Event. District 5 Chief Probation Officer Shane Stutzman says the 5th Judicial Probation District covers 11 counties, and says this event is a great chance for workers to relax and have fun. “It's just to get people a little more engaged and excited about what we do, and our jobs are very serious, and stressful, and sometimes heartbreaking, the things that we deal with,” says Stutzman, “and so this is just kind of a way to reenergize and fill our cups back up” District 5 Reporting Center Coordinator Marty Metschke says the District 5 Probation office recently moved all three of its offices into one location off East 32nd Avenue. Metschke says, “Its like anything, you move into a new house, it takes awhile to get going, but slowly but surely were getting there, but as far as our space and location it's phenomenal.” Stutzman says the event hosted approximatley seventy runners and walkers, and hopes they can continue to grow the event next year.
