COLUMBUS - A Shelby woman is set to face Platte County Court Wednesday after allegedly shoplifting over $1,200 in goods from Walmart.
According to court documents, 38-year-old Rebecca Arguello allegedly shoplifted $1,212.65 worth of goods, throughout nine separate incidents. The affidavit says a Walmart employee reported seeing Arguello using the self-check out system to purchase some items, but put other items in her bag and left without scanning them.
The employee stated that they went to check security footage on the May 8th incident, where they noted the items Arguello scanned did not match-up with the items Arguello left with. The employee reported that Arguello would move items over the scanner while holding a finger over the bar code, to make it appear as if she was scanning all of her items.
After checking past security footage and receipts, the employee reported that Arguello had allegedly shoplifted items a total of nine times. Court documents state that Arguello is also known under the alias's of Rebecca Bonsack and Rebecca Reyes.
Arguello is set to appear before Platte County Court for a Status of Felony hearing on Wednesday at 8:45 a.m.
Arguello faces a class 4 Felony charge of Theft by Shoplifting $500 - $1,500.
