FREMONT - With time running out in the legislative session, the governor welcomed the Fremont community to talk about some 2016 Legislative priorities.
Gov. Pete Ricketts, alongside Senator Dave Schnoor, came to Fremont Thursday afternoon for a legislative briefing, discussing issues including, property tax relief and infrastructure funding.
The governor says there has been progress made on property tax reform.
Discussion also arose regarding a new bill prohibiting sexual orientation and gender identity discrimination, which Gov. Ricketts does not support.
As we rely on our transportation system everyday, the governor says it is important to focus on infrastructure funding.
On Tuesday of this week, the governor unveiled the new license plate design for Nebraska vehicles starting next year, promoting the state's Sesquicentennial.
He assures his administration will continue to work with the Legislature to address these and other important priorities for Nebraskans.
