NORFOLK - Norfolk Police are investigaing what witnesses say is an attempted stabbing downtown following a call for help Sunday night. The alleged incident occurred inside Hotel North, an apartment complex on the second floor of a building at 220 West Norfolk Avenue.
According to a bartender at near-by Harbor Bar, a black male came in the back door of the lounge at about 9:30 p.m. and claimed someone had broken into his apartment, assaulted him and tried to stab him. The bartender sais he let the man use the phone to call police and that the alleged victim's shirt was torn looked as though he had been roughed up.
Details are few at this time as police remain at the scene.
